What Product To Choose
1) French Doors 1a. The products that are good for this application are: 2” Horizontal, Duette, Roller Shades, Silhouette 2) Sliders 2a. The products recommended for this application are: Verticals, Sheer Verticals, Luminette, Roller shades, Duette, Vertiglide, Silhouette, Vignette, and shutters 2b. These products are recommended since they don’t have a bunch at the top as the blind is lifted. 3) Room Partitions: 3a. The products recommended for this application are: Shutters, Duette, Horizontals, Panel Track Verticals 1) If there is furniture in front of the blind make sure you DO NOT specify wand. A wand can only be used if you walk with the wand. If there is a couch in the way that sticks out far the customer will not be able to go to the side where the wand is and walk with the wand to open the blind. In this case a cord and chain is advisable. 2) Make sure you specify different wand lengths if the window is up very high and/or the consumer is very short. 3) You MUST have at the worst case scenario 1.75” of un-obstructed sill depth for an inside mount for a vertical blind. 4) Mortorized options available. PVC material comes 16’ maximum. Headrail comes 20’ Maximum. 5) The blinds come in one way (meaning that the blind will either close all the way to the right or to the left) however, the headrail is interchangeable – the installer will place the blind with the stack to the O non moving side of the window. The vertical blind also comes with split draw, meaning half of the stack will be on the left and the other half on the right. 6) The vertical headrail we use comes from the original designer of the self synchronizing carrier, which means after the gear rotates to the closed position, you can turn it a little more until it clicks and it will always synchronize to be straight. Horizontals 1) We recommend cord tilting over wand tilting due to longevity and possibility of breaking wood wands. It takes 12 revolutions to use a wand and only a short pull for a cord. 2) A Wand Tiltor is recommended for Standard Valance only. a. Using a Wand Tiltor for other size valance will rub against the valance. 3) The cord to lift the blind gets longer as the blind is raised. Horizontal blinds are NOT meant to be lifted on a daily basis, they are primarily meant to be tilted open or close. A cord is Always used to lift the blind. 4) Never use basswood in kitchens or bathrooms, since this will void the warranty. Getting water or moisture near or on the wood will cause premature warping, fading, and discoloriation. 5) Make sure you take into account that a fully recessed inside mount for a Horizontal is 3 ¼ inches. 6) Motorized control is not to exceed 30 lbs. 7) The valance is 1” wider than actual measured width. Please make sure that there is enough room to place a valance on the window and that it will not interfere with other moldings, decorations, or walls; if so specify no returns or a return on one side. 8) Motorized Horizontal blinds do not have tilt cords or wands, the remote control performs this function. 9) We will always when available use the contoured/trapezoid bottom rail due to its superior rocking function. 10 )We will always try and use hidden valance clips whenever possible. 11) Cloth tape is available at a 25% surcharge and may or may not have a contoured bottom rail. The cloth tape is primarily designed for the rectangular bottom rail, however, we may use the contoured bottom rail due to material availability. 12) Basswood slats are always lighter in weight than vinyl or PVC slats.
